Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Hotel Sales Assistant reports to the Director of Sales and supports 4 Catering and Sales Managers on clerical and administrative duties. These clerical duties include, but are not limited to sending email, copying, answering the telephone, scheduling appointments and making travel arrangements.

  2. Responsible for marketing and selling guestrooms, meeting rooms and other services offered by the hotel. They are also required to correspondence with customers who have questions or concerns in a clear and customer driven manner.

  3. Contacting managerial and staff personnel for collection of data statistics, and reports. Will perform follow-up work for reports and special projects.
  4. Place, receive and screen telephone calls for Sales Department using correct telephone etiquette and complete inquiry formats and perform site inspections.
  5. Establishes and maintains Sales Department records, correspondence, reports and other documents in accordance with Corporate Policies and Procedures. Includes proper tracking of files form different market segments; such as SMERF, Corporate, Travel Industry, Government/Military, etc.; the use of geographical and master accuracy of current files, and purging files no longer in use.
  6. All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor

Ideal Candidates:

  1. Must be detail-oriented, have organizational skills and an ability to work independently. Verbal and written communication skills are essential, because some sales assistants are actually involved in the selling services and most sales assistants have to keep written records of sales and other activities.
  2. Proficient with computers,file and engage in data entry.
  3. Applicants must have a high school diploma. A college degree in hospitality, marketing, or sales is preferred.
