~ The Experiential Marketing team has responsibility for all customer, dealer and media brand experience touch points. The team designs, develops, produces and proactively seeks opportunities to showcase the Genesis brand and its vehicles to all end-users.
~ Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Genesis Experiential Marketing, the Manager of Auto Shows & Events will be responsible for facilitating successful execution of Auto Shows, National Dealer Meetings and other marketing programs.
~ The position will have budget responsibility and will be required to work closely with counterparts in Purchasing and Finance departments.
~ To deliver on key Genesis marketing objectives increase brand awareness, consideration, improve perception and drive dealer traffic.
~ Provide strategic support and direction of overall Auto Show program, lead day-to-day aspects, and use analysis to determine improvements to the program.
~ Provide support and direction for annual National Dealer Meetings, Grass Roots Meetings and other Marketing events. Primary focus is on display and logistics components. Act as main day-to-day contact and provide input and direction for continuous program enhancements.
~ Responsibilities include vendor management, updating and maintaining a variety of show schedules, credential requests, hotel accommodations, vehicle lists, floor plans, communicating with show managers and regional personnel, traveling to show locations as needed. Makes decisions for proper on site execution.
~ Oversee planning and responsible use of multi-million dollar Shows and Exhibits budget; must be able to maximize available resources and demonstrate ability to adapt to economic conditions.
~ Submit and manage Auto Show and Auto Show Specialty vehicle trooping.
~ Understand and contribute to the overall marketing strategies of Genesis and how division programs influence and/or relate to them and to the organization.
~ Assist with development of new and/or refurbishment of existing Auto Show Exhibit Properties.
~ Review and provide input on graphics as needed.
~ Provide support to the Experiential team through sharing of best practices, wardrobe recommendation and networking at selected events when necessary.
~ Evaluate and follow department processes and procedures. Look for ways to improve them to ensure success and value for all projects.
~ Assist in the selection, evaluation, and management of all required vendors.
~ Assist and communicate with various departments, regions, and vendors as required.
~ Generate month-end accruals, spending reports and year-end accruals.
~ Implement and process promotional vehicle giveaways.
~ Additional tasks and responsibilities as required.
~ Communicate and interact effectively with executive team, fellow employees, regional management, national dealer body, the consumer public, and, occasionally, the media; ensure timely distribution of Executive Communications and Executive Recaps
~ Review recommendations made by various Shows & Events agency and suppliers.
~ Provide feedback on creative and operational process.
~ Develop vehicle list and schedules for shows.
~ Make on site decisions that may affect the budget.
~ This position requires ability to problem solve, make decisions and operate independently.
~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelors degree preferred
~ Masters degree a plus
~ Seven plus years of experience of which at least three years of directly related experience in event marketing field, either with client or agency.
~ At least three years of experience within automotive industry desired.
~ Luxury event marketing experience desired.
~ At least three years of experience of supervisory experience desired.
~ Ability to manage high-paced environment with multiple projects and agency personnel.
~ Ability to develop strategy and implementation plan for new projects/initiatives.
~ Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships at a variety of levels; Executive, Managerial, Field Staff, subordinate and agency hierarchy of personnel.
~ Ability to take and lead the creative development of a campaign and maintain a macro strategy.
~ Must be well versed in the nuances of event marketing.
~ Diplomatic and collaborative attitude, able to motivate partners to meet and exceed business expectations.
~ Ability to create and present executive facing presentations and other materials.
~ Heavy emphasis on interpersonal relationship skills, analytical skills, written and oral communication skills and leadership skills.
~ Strong Project Management Skills with attention to detail; master at multi-tasking.
~ Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel.
~ Basic computer skills and time management skills.
~ Normal Office Duties.
~ Must be able to travel.
~ Occasional night and weekend work.
