Job Description

EatonsAerospace Division is currently seeking a Senior Buyer to join our team.

Thisposition is based at our Torrance, CA facility.

Thisindividual will be part of themodity buying group for the site,moditiesmay include: Electrical, IP, machine parts, raw materials and Sub-assembliescomponents as well as transitioning projects totaling a $7M annual spend. Thisperson will have dual responsibility for executing the planning and controlaspects resultant from the SAP MRP system.

  • Youwill develop, and execute plans to exceed key supplier goals (OTD, Cost Out,DPPM)
  • Youwill lead resourcing of $7M annual spend to optimize material cost out, andsupplier performance, by leveraging BCC, and other domestic preferredsuppliers.
  • Youwill analyze specifications to rmend sourcing in make/buy decisions &cost-price considerations
  • Youwill support supplier and plant quality relationship to ensure qualitycorrective actions are submitted in a timely fashion
  • Youwill support Supplier Consolidation in alignment with Eaton preferred suppliers
  • Youwill partner with Shared Services Team to ensure continuity to material flow insupport of customer OTD, and inventory mitigation, by acting to RFQ triggers,and action (expedite, de-expedite, cancel) messages in real time.
  • Youwill assist in the continued expansion of consignment initiatives, and supportof supplier visualization portal that conveys real time materials requirementsto supply base.
  • Youwill partner withmodity managers, and regional sourcing managers to driveBCC transition plan, while mitigating disruption risk from existing footprint.
  • Youwill conduct VAVE sessions to explore cost out opportunities, and leadexecution of same.

    Required(Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelorsdegree from an accredited institution required.
  • Minimum3 years work experience in Operations/Manufacturing in Supply Chain function
  • Minimum3 years of experience utilizing/troubleshooting MRP(SAP preferred)
  • Mustbe legally authorized to work in the United States withoutpany sponsorship.
  • Thisposition requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject tothe International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must beU.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S.Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee,or Refugee.
  • PreferredQualifications:

  • 1year of experience in procurement for a manufacturingpany.
  • 1year of outsourcing, working with suppliers overseas
  • 1year of Aerospace experience
  • MastersDegree
  • CPSMcertified
  • CPIMcertified

  • Mustbe manufacturing oriented, team player, problem solver, and possess negotiationskills for handling hourly workers, engineering, and manufacturing supervisors
  • Mustexhibit a high degree of reliability, problem solving, resource planning andpurchasing skills, scheduling, and leadership skills to ensure results.
